Perlis has fully recovered from floods, with two temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Kangar and Arau being closed this afternoon and earlier today. Perlis Social Welfare Department (JKM) director Ku Chik Ku Mat Esa said the two PPS closed are Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sena in Kangar, which closed at 2 pm today, and SK Arau PPS, which closed at noon for the Arau district. He said that 119 flood victims at SK Sena and five people sheltered at SK Arau as of 8 am this morning were allowed to return to their homes. "The affected flood victims come from villages including Kampung Tok Kandang, Kampung Bakau, and Kampung Repoh in Kangar, while Kampung Banat, Kampung Belat Batu, and Kampung Seberang Behor Mempelam in Arau were also affected," he said in a statement. For the record, the floods in Perlis occurred last Tuesday, with two PPS-SK Sena and SK Kubang Gajah in Arau-opened at noon. The PPS at SK Kubang Gajah was closed at 12.30 pm yesterday.
