People’s Votes for CPP Give Three Clear Points, Says PM

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), this afternoon stated that the people’s votes for CPP in the recent general election show clearly three points.

First, trust in the CPP, second, trust in Hun Sen and third, trust in Hun Manet, the Premier’s successor, he pointed out in a special statement broadcasted on the National Television of Cambodia (TVK).

“This is a clear message from the people that the opposition must understand […],” he underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued that the national and international election observers are living witnesses of the democratic process in Cambodia. It does not depend on one or two countries to undermine Cambodia’s elections.

“[…] In 2018, you also denounced the election, but you still worked with me, inevitably, including the participation in the ASEAN Summit in Phnom Penh […] because the relationship between states is like that,” he stressed.

At the same time, Samdech Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed that extremism needs to be eliminated from Cambodia and any group that intends to associate with the extremist group should not be pardoned. Legal mean will be used to get rid of that extremist group.
