GEORGE TOWN, The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge, more commonly known as the Penang Second Bridge, will be temporarily closed from 12.01 am to 9 am on June 23 for the 2024 Pantai Marathon.
The event organiser, Pantai Hospital stated in a Facebook post that the closure will involve the Bayan Lepas to Batu Kawan lane, and the bridge would be reopen as usual at 9 am after the marathon ends and adviced motorists to use the Penang Bridge as an alternative route.
‘2024 Pantai Marathon participants can use the free bus service from Queensbay Mall to the marathon location at Batu Maung Foodie from 11.30 pm, June 22 till 11.30 am, June 23,’ the post read.
Motorists can obtain further traffic information or emergency services via the Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd hotline at 1-300-30-2828.
