KUALA LUMPUR, National women's diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri is set to make her third Olympic appearance in Paris, thanks to the unused quota by other countries. Malaysia Swimming (MS) diving technical director Bryan Nickson Lomas confirmed the matter when contacted by Bernama today, sharing that they received an email from World Aquatics at 5 pm yesterday. 'Nur Dhabitah will compete in the women's 3 metre (m) springboard event in Paris,' he said, adding that national men's diver Ooi Tze Liang's participation has yet to be confirmed by the World Aquatics. He said that they will only learn of Ooi's fate when informed by World Aquatics on July 8. On Nur Dhabitah's preparations, Bryan said she has been placed on 'ready mode' through early preparation after she failed to qualify on merit at the World Aquatic Championship in Doha in February. 'We did place her in Plan B just in case she gets into the Olympics, that's why she competed in the recent Australian National Trials, so she has had one competition before Paris,' he explained. Nur Dhabitah will join Bertrand Rhodict Lises - the first national athlete who qualified for the 2024 Olympics - in Malaysia's dive team. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
