SIBU, The Sarawak National Security Council (NSC) launched the state's first Guidelines on Community Security Action Plan at the Rejang Park housing area here today. Sarawak Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee said the guidelines provide actions to be taken by communities in the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) and Rukun Tetangga (KRT) areas in the event of any disaster happening. "Congratulations to the Rejang Park JKKK for being the first area to launch and publish these guidelines," he said when speaking at the Community Safety Service and MADANI Community Programme at Taman Traffik Rejang Park today. The programme is jointly organised by the Sarawak NSC, the Sibu District Information Office and the State Information Department. "Besides that, the community should also work together to ensure the safety of their residential areas. We need to report to the responsible party anything suspicious that threatens safety in the neighbou rhood," he said. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
