The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) has asked Japan to continue supporting Cambodia with the development of Judo, Karate, canoeing-kayaking, and gymnastics through long-term training, especially toward the Asian Youth Games 2029 that the country will host. The request was made by Senior Minister H.E. Thong Khon, President of NOCC, in a meeting with H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Sept. 25, said H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of NOCC. The senior minister spoke highly of Japan's contribution to Cambodia's sports development so far, contributing to Cambodia's success in winning medals at the SEA Games 2023. H.E. UENO Atsushi pledged to discuss Cambodia's request with Japan's concerned bodies. The two sides also discussed ways to attract more Japanese runners to join the Angkor International Half-Marathon on Dec. 1, 2024. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
