The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) expects that Cambodian athletes will set a new record for the nation at the Paris 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, from July 26 to Aug. 11. Senior Minister H.E. Thong Khon, NOCC President, highlighted the optimism on July 21 before his departure from Phnom Penh International Airport as Cambodian delegation leader for the games. The participating Cambodian athletes were competitively selected by the NOCC and Cambodia's Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, with the endorsement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), he added. The three athletes include a runner, Mr. Chhun Bunthorn, and two swimmers, Mr. Antoine Le Lapparent and Ms. Sakbun Katarina. The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics will be a good opportunity for the athletes to profile Cambodia's reputation and culture and build friendships with their peers from around the world, he added. The event is expected to attract the participation of 10,500 athletes from 206 countries. Source: Agence Kamp uchea Presse
