AKP Phnom Penh, August 16, 2024 -- Ms. Amy S. Ham, a Cambodian bodybuilding coach, is the first Cambodian woman to receive a gold medal and trophy from the President of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, Mr. Datuk Paul Chua. The good news was shared by the President of the Cambodian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (CBFF) Mr. Tek Bunvy on Aug. 15. The gold medal and trophy, he added, were handed over to Ms. Amy S. Ham at the 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, which took place from Aug. 6-12 in Indonesia. Ms. Amy S. Ham was among the nine women advancing in the bodybuilding sport, proving women's capacity and involvement in the sport. Another Cambodian bodybuilder, Mr. Khou Kheanghuy, also won a gold medal in the men's sport physique over 180 cm at the Asian championship. Both Ms. Amy S. Ham and Mr. Khou Kheanghuy were strongly committed to continuing to do their best in future competitions. Mr. Tek Bunvy, Ms. Amy S. Ham and Mr. Khou Kheanghuy thanked the Mi nistry of Education, Youth, and Sports for its continuing support and opportunities given to Cambodian athletes to join international sports events.
