The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has announced to organise a short video contest to promote the use of Riel, the national currency. Under the topic of 'What can (we) buy with 10,000 Riel in Siem Reap province?', the contest is open to the general public with the deadline on Nov. 14, 2024. According to the NBC's announcement, the video clips must be taken in Siem Reap province for a duration from 40 seconds to 3 minutes. The videos must mention the official social media networks of the NBC with hashtags: #????????????? ???? (Riel Day 2024) #????????????????????? (I love Riel) and #??????????????????? (National Bank of Cambodia), the source added. The first winner of the contest will get a cash prize of 2 million Riel (about US$500) and the second winner will receive 1 million Riel (approximately US$250), pointed out the announcement, adding that the award conferment ceremony will be held in a dissemination workshop on Riel, Bakong, and KHQR to be held in Siem Reap on Nov. 18, 2024.
