Phnom Penh: The National Primary and Secondary School Games 2025 is fostered with the aim to get prepared for Cambodia's hosting of the Asian Youth Games 2029. The update was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, in a meeting in Phnom Penh on Jan. 31. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ministry promotes the games across Cambodia and encourages all capital and provincial Departments of Education, Youth and Sports, and national sports federations to organise the games and upgrade the capacity of participating students. The government is developing their capacity and making them ready for the Asian Youth Games 2029, he added. Mr. Huot Sengtry, Director of the Event Organisation and Sports Statistics Department, detailed that the 2025 National Primary School Games with 13 disciplines will take place in Phnom Penh from May 2 to 11, with the participation of some 3,000 spor ts delegates, coaches, and athletes. The 2025 Secondary School Games with 14 disciplines will happen in Phnom Penh from June 6 to 15 and are expected to attract the participation of about 3,500 sports delegates, coaches, and athletes, he added.
