The annual high school examination for the academic year 2023-2024 is scheduled to take place on Oct. 8-9 in 230 examination centres of 5,533 rooms across the country. As the previous years, the forthcoming exam will strictly comply with the principle of law, fairness, transparency with acceptable result. According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, 137,040 high school students have registered for this year's exam which will test seven subject areas in both major categories - science and social science. The science subjects include biology, chemistry, physics, history, Khmer literature, foreign languages, and mathematics. Social science subjects consist of geography, history, civics, geology and ecology, mathematics, foreign languages, and Khmer literature. Last year, some 72.98 percent, or 98,460 out of 137,412 high school students who have registered for the upper secondary exams, obtained their baccalaureate. Among the successful students, 1,673 got grade A; 6,964 grade B; 18,303 grade C; 34,246 grade D; and 37,269 grade E. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
