PHNOM PENH: The Kun Khmer Competition at the 4th National Games and the 2nd National Para Games 2024 has successfully concluded on the afternoon of Nov. 6 after six days of the competitions. The closing ceremony took place under the presidency of H.E. Khim Bunsong, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence and President of the Sports Council of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and H.E. Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation, at the RCAF Sports Centre (Old Stadium) in Phnom Penh. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry of National Defence won 11 medals - 6 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze - and ranked 1st among the 14 participating ministries, cities, and provinces. The Ministry of Interior came in 2nd with 9 medals - 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze, followed by Prey Veng province with 4 medals - 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze; Banteay Meanchey province, with 5 medals - 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze; and Svay Rieng province, with 2 medals - 1 gold and 1 silver. The event , themed "National Sports for Funan Techo Canal," features a total of 36 types of sports with 328 events at the 4th National Games, while the 2nd National Para Games include 13 kinds of sports with 55 disciplines. The games commenced on Oct. 30 and are set to conclude on Nov. 8.
