IPOH, The Mosque Trail Ukhwah Ride 2024 brought together around 250 participants, including scooter riders, super bikers and motorhome enthusiasts, for a unique event that combined tourism with community service. Organised by Tourism Perak, the Islamic Tourism Centre, Persatuan Jom Cuci Masjid (JCM) and the Keledang Jaya Jamek Mosque Committee, this initiative aimed to promote local tourism while engaging in mosque cleaning efforts. According to Sifu Bikerz chairman Hanafiah Abdul Malek, the goal is to connect with the communities around the mosques and strengthen bonds among Muslims. "Through this programme, we want to instill in the participants that while we enjoy riding motorcycles, we must never forget Allah SWT, stay close to the mosque and contribute to the community," he said when met at Muhammadiah Mosque, also known as the Chinese Mosque, in Taman Tasek Jaya here. The event commenced with performing the Subuh prayer in congregation at the Keledang Jaya Mosque, setting a spiritual tone for the d ay. After prayers, the convoy set out towards Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque, with additional stops at various Indian Muslim mosques around Ipoh. Meanwhile, Tourism Perak chief operating officer Zuraida Md Taib, highlighted the programme's role in promoting the tourism sector through motor sports. She said this initiative is part of the Visit Perak Year (TMP) Campaign 2024 and the Islamic Tourism Month, focusing on the promotion of the Perak Mosque and Perak Bikers Trails. 'This programme not only aims to showcase the stunning mosques of the state but also seeks to introduce new tourism products, delicious local food, and various facilities offered by the state government. 'We hope to attract eight million domestic tourists and 350,000 international tourists to Perak during TMP 2024,' Zuraida added. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
