MELAKA, The Melaka Nightlife programme for September has been moved forward to Aug 31, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh. He said the programme, typically held during the first week of every month, has been rescheduled to coincide with the public holiday for the National Day celebration. 'I hope many visitors and tourists will come to our state to celebrate National Day,' he told reporters here today. He was met after the investiture ceremony for state honours and awards in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam. Ab Rauf further said that the state-level National Day celebration would be held at Dataran Kemerdekaan, located opposite the Mahkota Parade shopping centre. He said the celebration, previously held at the Proclamation of Independence Memorial, will now be hosted at Dataran Kemerdekaan to provide more comfort for visitors. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
