he Melaka government has appointed four Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel as local council members to reflect solidarity in community management to support the state's development agenda, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh. "The military's involvement as council members is meant to ensure that those who safeguard national security also contribute their perspectives to develop the areas they represent. "Although the military manages their own areas, they should also share all information related to local development. This initiative is expected to set an example for other local authorities," he told reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of local council members for the years 2024 to 2025 here today.
