Seoul: A man in his 30s was detained Sunday on suspicion of killing a woman and dismembering her body, police said. The arrest took place without a warrant inside an underpass connected to Ilwon station in Seoul's Gangnam district, following the discovery of body parts floating on the Bukhan River in Hwacheon, 88 kilometers northeast of Seoul. According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect, identified as a soldier, reportedly admitted to the murder charge. The victim is believed to be a woman in her 30s and an acquaintance of the suspect. It has been noted that neither the suspect nor the victim were reported to be residents of Gangwon Province, where Hwacheon is located. Police stated their intention to resume the search for the remaining body parts on Monday and have planned to request identification by the National Forensic Service.
