KUCHING, Several roads leading to the Sarawak Stadium will be closed from 3 pm on Saturday (Aug 17) in conjunction with the official opening of the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), said Kuching police chief Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah. He said the road closure would involve eight routes, namely the Sesco roundabout, Kesuma Resort roundabout, entrance towards the car park in front of the State Stadium, junction of the Squash Courts, entrance towards Gate D and Gate A of the Sarawak Stadium as well as roads before Kampung Stadium. 'Those attending the opening are advised to use the routes from the Sesco roundabout and then make a U-turn at the Casuarina roundabout before using the road to enter the junction at Jalan Stadium. 'Vehicles passing Jalan Diplomatik can head straight to the car park area behind the Sarawak Stadium,' he said in a statement today. He also advised the public not to park their vehicles on road shoulders and to plan their trips by taking alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. Sourc e: BERNAMA News Agency
