A man in his 30s has filed a complaint against actor Yoo Ah-in, claiming the actor raped him while he was asleep, police said Friday. The Seoul Yongsan Police Station has booked Yoo for investigation on charges of imitative rape after the complaint was filed that the man was raped at a studio apartment in Seoul's central district of Yongsan on July 14. By law, imitative rape charges are applied in a rape case between same-sex persons. The apartment was neither Yoo's home nor the complainant's, and there were other men there at the time, according to police. Police said they are open to the possibility that Yoo may have committed the crime while under the influence of drugs. The complainant, who was questioned Thursday, reportedly tested negative in a brief reagent test. Police plan to bring Yoo in for questioning in the near future, an official said. Yoo's lawyer denied the accusations. "The complaint related to Yoo Ah-in is not true," lawyer Bang Jeong-hyun said. "Please refrain from any unnecessary speculation regarding (Yoo's) private life." Yoo has been on trial on charges of illegally using propofol, a medical anesthetic, under the pretext of cosmetic procedures on 181 occasions between 2020-22. Prosecutors demanded a four-year prison term for the actor earlier this week. Source: Yonhap News Agency
