KG Mobility’s March sales down 21.4 pct on sluggish demand

KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong Motor Co., said Monday its March sales fell 21.4 percent from a year earlier due to weakened domestic demand.

KG Mobility sold 10,702 vehicles last month, compared with 13,619 units sold a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

Domestic sales plunged 47.2 percent on-year to 4,702 units amid sluggish demand. Exports, however, jumped 25.7 percent to 6,000 units thanks to strengthened sales overseas, including in Turkey, Australia and Britain.

A KG Mobility official said, “We will focus our efforts not only on increasing exports, which continue to rise, but also on strengthening our response to the domestic market, including improving customer satisfaction.”
