KOTA BHARU, The Kelantan State Deaf Sports Association (KelSDeaf) team is aiming for the championship title at the 2024 Malaysian Deaf Futsal and Football Championships which are scheduled to start on Friday. Its president, Saiful Helmir Dzamani, said the target could be achieved based on his team's current performance and momentum, which was seen as having the potential to achieve that success. "The 4th Malaysian Deaf Futsal Championship will be held in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu from September 6 to 10 while the 11th Malaysian Deaf Football Championship will be held in Kuantan, Pahang from September 29 to October 5. "The last time KelSDeaf became champions in the futsal and football tournaments was in 2019, which took place in Negeri Sembilan and Kota Bharu respectively," he said. He said this at a press conference after presenting the official jerseys to the Kelantan Deaf Futsal team, here today, which was sponsored by Zas Homes Sdn Bhd. Also present were Kelantan State Youth and Sports deputy direc tor Mohd Firdaus Nawi and Zas Homes Sdn Bhd operations manager Muhammad Azrimi Abdullah. Meanwhile, Mohd Firdaus said the state government had approved an allocation of RM10,000 to KelSDeaf to participate in the two tournaments.
