Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation H.E. Hem Vanndy has advised Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk Provincial Departments of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (DISTI) to play an active role in Cambodia's industrial diversification. H.E. Minister gave the advice during his visit to the Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk Provincial DISTIs on Aug. 29, according to a new release of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI). H.E. Hem Vanndy said Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk provinces, with their robust industrial bases, are well-positioned to lead this transition by focusing on upgrading traditional industries such as garment, attracting emerging industries like electronics, and supporting local small and medium enterprises to link to the supply chain. To bolster these efforts, he added, the DISTIs must adopt a business-friendly approach and prioritise service delivery that aligns closely with the needs of the private sector. He also shared that MIS TI is currently reviewing policy adjustments to create a conducive environment for industrial growth. Source: Agence Kampuchea Presse
