KOTA KINABALU, The Immigration Department (JIM) in Sabah has assured that it will work towards improving its counter services after being reprimanded by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. JIM Sabah director Datuk Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yusof said the department is committed to complying with the instructions from its headquarters to ensure that every counter is operational at the stipulated time and there is no congestion involving the public. "We accept the reprimand. I have also received instructions from the top management of KDN (Home Affairs Ministry), namely the secretary-general, who informed that there will be a meeting between the director-general of Immigration and the director-general of the National Registration Department (JPN) soon to improve matters mentioned by Tan Sri KSN (Chief Secretary) yesterday," she told a press conference here today. Yesterday, Shamsul Azri outlined on Facebook some main service elements that JIM Sabah and JPN need to pay attention to to ensure more efficient customer service.
