The head of Hyundai Motor Group has recently visited the group's manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic and has touted the plant as a major hub for the development of the South Korean automotive giant's future mobility vision, the group said Sunday. Euisun Chung, executive chair of Hyundai Motor Group, visited Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) in the city of Ostrava on Thursday to inspect the production operations and encourage local employees on the occasion of South Korea's Chuseok fall harvest holiday. According to the group, Chung discussed with local employees strategies to overcome the stagnation in European automobile demand, as well as those involving electrification transition. HMMC is Hyundai's sole electric vehicle (EV) production hub in Europe. "The Czech plant is a key hub for future investments in our vision and technology for eco-friendly mobility, playing a crucial role in Hyundai Motor Group's continued success," Chung told employees. He further stressed that the group "will spare no effort in investing in quality and safety" and pledged to strengthen efforts for innovation and growth despite challenges due to shifts in the EV market.
