Hyundai Mobis Co. on Friday reported its first-quarter net income of 862.4 billion won (US$627.5 million), up 2.4 percent from a year earlier.
The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the January-March period rose 29.8 percent on-year to 542.7 billion won. Revenue decreased 5.4 percent to 13.86 trillion won.
The earnings fell behind market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 875.5 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
