GEORGE TOWN, Some 32 hawker stalls at the Huma House Complex, which is located next to a hotel along Jalan Batu Ferringhi, were destroyed in a fire that broke out at about 1.58 pm today. A spokesman for the operations centre (PGO) of the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Penang said however, there were no casualties. 'Following the emergency call, fire-brigades from the Bagan Jermal and Teluk Bahang fire stations (BBP) proceeded to the scene and found the 32 hawker stalls (100 square feet per unit) on fire. 'The fire destroyed sale items as well as several vehicles there including motorcycles,' he said in a statement today.
