KUALA LUMPUR, Gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed slightly higher on Monday. The August 2024 contract rose to US$2,526.40 per troy ounce from US$2,520.00 per troy ounce last Friday, while September 2024 increased to US$2,530.10 per troy ounce from US$2,523.70 per troy ounce previously. Meanwhile, the October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 contracts all settled higher at US$2,532.40 per troy ounce from US$2,526.00 per troy ounce previously. Volume fell to 13 lots from last Friday's 19 lots while open interest eased to 55 contracts from 58 contracts previously. The price of physical gold stood at US$2,511.20 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Aug 23. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
