The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher in line with COMEX gold prices. At the close, spot month July 2024 contract rose to US$2,372.40 per troy ounce from US$2,371.00 per troy ounce on Thursday. Contracts for August 2024, September 2024, October 2024, December 2024 and February 2025 also increased to US$2,385.80 per troy ounce from US$2,384.40 per troy ounce yesterday. Volume rose to 29 lots from 11 lots yesterday, while open interest improved to 53 contracts from 35 contracts previously.
