KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Tuesday. The August 2024 contract fell to US$2,512.80 per troy ounce from US$2,526.40 on Monday while September 2024 retreated to US$2,516.50 from US$2,530.10. The October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 contracts all settled lower at US$2,518.80 per troy ounce from US$2,532.40. The volume fell to nine lots from yesterday's 13 lots while open interest eased to 51 contracts from 55 contracts previously. The price of physical gold stood at US$2,511.20 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on Aug 23. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
