SEOUL, A seminar will be held at the National Assembly next week to discuss cooperation between South Korea and Southeast Asia in the field of entertainment technology, officials said Tuesday.

The inaugural global seminar will be held next Tuesday to discuss new ways to promote cultural exchange between Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) under the main theme of “A New Platform of Exchange and Cooperation between Korea and ASEAN in the Era of AI.”

The seminar comes amid the growing influence of Korean dramas, movies and pop culture in the Asian market, and as technologies, such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse, have increasing influence on content.

It will bring together several officials, diplomats and experts, including Laotian Ambassador to Seoul Songkane Luangmuninthone, the current chair of the 2024 ASEAN Summit.

The seminar is organized by the National Assembly Entertainment Technology Forum and hosted by DirectMediaLab.
