Cambodia and the Philippines have discussed cooperation to further promote gender equality and women empowerment. The discussion took place between H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Women's Affairs, and H.E. Ms. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, Ambassador of the Philippines to Cambodia, at the ministry on Sept. 12. H.E. Ms. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo informed H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi of her intention to bolster the cooperation through organising joint initiatives and events, among others. The ambassador continued that a group of Philippine women entrepreneurs, who have won the ASEAN Entrepreneurs Award, are interested in exchanging views with Cambodian women entrepreneurs and running a training in October. She invited the minister to preside over the training and share Cambodia's experience related to women, peace, and security (WPS) with the participants. H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi welocomed the initiatives and underlined the long-lasting intimate relations and good cooperation between Cambodia, particularly in mainstreaming gender, preventing human trafficking, WPS, and beyond.
