IPOH, Two elderly people with disabilities (OKU) were rescued by the fire brigade after their home was flooded in Kampung Salak Baru near Trong today. Perak Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), said they received an emergency call at 4.52 pm. According to him, a six-man team with one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) from the Trong Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene. 'The victims were a married couple aged 75 and 52 who were trapped after their house was hit by a flash flood with waters to a depth of 0.7 metres (2.3 feet). 'Firefighters carried out a rescue operation by lifting both victims out of there," he said in a statement today. He said the two victims were then handed over to police to be transferred to their relative's house and the operation ended at 5.21 pm. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
