KUALA LUMPUR, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today congratulated Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) for lifting the 2024/25 FA Cup trophy after defeating Selangor FC yesterday. In a post on Facebook, the Prime Minister also expressed his admiration for the spirit shown by the Red Giants in the match. "Congratulations to JDT who won the competition yesterday. Maintain sports traditions to foster unity. Amazed by the spirit of Selangor team," he said in the message. Southern Tigers clinched the 2024/25 FA Cup trophy by beating Selangor 6-1 yesterday and the victorious squad under the management of Hector Bidoglio scored an FA Cup hat-trick after winning the prestigious cup in the 2022 and 2023 editions. JDT won through goals from Juan Muniz's hat-trick and a goal each from Arif Aiman ??Hanafi, Bergson Da Silva and Heberty Fernandes while Alvin Fortes netted Selangor FC's only goal.
