Dr. Ratnakar Adhikari, Executive Director of the Executive Secretariat for the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) at the World Trade Organisation (WTO), commended Cambodia for effective EIF project implementation, and supported the formulation of Cambodia trade policy framework in 2030 to become an upper middle-income country. Dr. Ratnakar Adhikari made the appreciation while he, and Mr. Aik Hoe Lim, Director of Trade and Environment Division of WTO, met with H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, in Geneva of Switzerland on May 7 to talk about EIF's key achievements and support at the present to establish Cambodia Trade Policy Framework in 2030, designed by the Ministry of Commerce in line with the Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and to prepare for Cambodia's upcoming graduation from least developed countries (LDCs). Mr. Aik Hoe Lim mentioned about the MOU between the WTO Secretariat and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to promote inclusive and sustainable development through trade and ec onomic integration in Asia-Pacific region, while standing ready to support Cambodia if needed. For her part, H.E. Ms. CHAM Nimul informed them about the ongoing establishment of Aid for Trade Support Committee of the Ministry of Commerce to better coordinate with donors and development partners to leverage resources to implement the Cambodia Trade Policy Framework and for trade development purposes.
