SUBANG JAYA, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi paid his last respects to Rozaid Abdul Rahman, 59, Media and Communications Director at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) at his residence in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya near here tonight. Ahmad Zahid arrived at 11.30 pm and spent around 20 minutes with the veteran journalist's family members. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir also paid their last respects today. Fahmi said Rozaid had contributed immensely to the journalism field in the country. 'I'm deeply saddened by his passing,' he said when met by Bernama tonight. Funeral prayers for Rozaid, who died of heart problems at his residence earlier today, will be conducted at Putra Heights Mosque at 8.30 am tomorrow (Aug 19) and he will be buried in Sungai Dua, Penang. Rozaid, who was appointed as PMO Media and Communications Director on May 23, 2023, had over 40 years of ex perience in journalism. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
