PETALING JAYA, Royal Malaysian Customs Department director-general Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin received the Women Leadership Excellence Award from Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil at the Asia Media Summit (AMS) tonight. Malaysia is hosting this year's AMS with the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) serving as the event's secretariat. Fahmi himself was also honoured with an appreciation award for his exemplary work for media development by AIBD Special Envoy for the Pacific Timothy Masiu. Other awards presented tonight included Best TV Programme on Inclusivity for All, Celebrating Diversity, Best Radio Programme on Building Cultural Bridges and Technology Award on Accessibility Broadcasting. The AMS, which provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry, was attended by several top-ranking broadcasters, decision-makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Fahmi also presented a similar Women Leadership Excellence Award to Thailand's Public Relations Department director-general Sudruetai Lertkasem at the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) Gala Dinner and Awards Rundown here tonight.
