Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet confirmed here this afternoon that the 7th-mandate Royal Government will continue the legacy of the previous mandates in enhancing gender equality. This confirmation was made by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet while presiding over the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Women's Affairs. The 7th-mandate Royal Government will continue the noble legacy of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the former Prime Minister of Cambodia, by continuing to promote and enhance the role of women in society and in socio-economic development of the nation, he said. The Royal Government will continue to strengthen its citizenship in a highly civilised society with morality, and equity, the Premier underlined. Samdech Thipadei said women are a driving force of the country's development, and the Royal Government will further provide more opportunities for greater women's participation. The Royal Government has continued to promote gende r equality and empowerment of women and girls in all priority areas in the heroic policy of the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 and the National Policy on Gender Equality that will be announced soon. Samdech Thipadei also instructed the Ministry of Women's Affairs and related ministries to continue to promote social morality, women's values and harmony in the family through strengthening the role of the National Commission for the Promotion of Social Morality, and so on.
