The construction of the federal building in Tunjong, intended for relocation of federal offices in Kelantan, is progressing smoothly, and is expected to be operational by early 2025, according to Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, chairman of the Kelantan Development Action Council. He noted that currently, all federal offices are located at Wisma Persekutuan in Kota Bharu, with some government offices operating from private premises on a rental basis. 'The federal building was initially scheduled for completion this year; however, construction was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are now focused on accelerating the construction process. 'Additional facilities planned for the building include kindergartens, nurseries, canteens, and surau. Once completed, the project will yield significant economic benefits, particularly for the Tunjong area," he said, in a press conference after a working visit to Kampung Aril, today. The federal building will occupy a 27.28-acre site and will consist of four eight-story bloc ks, covering a total area of 90,000 square metres. Nik Nazmi said that, as of Aug 12, the total original allocation approved for 448 projects in Kelantan amounted to RM2.8 billion. Source: BERNAMA News Agency
