Commerce Ministry Issues Two Prakas to Strengthen Exports to the U.S.

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Commerce has announced to issue two Prakas (Ministerial Regulations) to strengthen the exports of Cambodian products to the U.S. markets.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the two Prakas are the Inter-Ministerial Prakas on Prevention Measures of Origin Frauds for Exports of Certain Goods to the United States, and the Procedures for Applying and Issuing Origin Certification Letter for the Export of Certain Goods to the United States.

The new regulations will be effective on May 12, 2025, underlined the Ministry of Commerce.

These Prakas aim to prevent origin frauds and to strengthen the transparent enforcement of Law on Rules of Origin for the exports of certain goods to the United States market, said the source, stressing that producers and exporters are not required to pay public service fees when applying for Origin Certification Letter.
