Phnom penh: Two MK-82 bombs bearing serial numbers 22002788 and 22002794, with a manufacture date of January 2023, serve as new evidence of the recent operation by the Thai Air Force within Cambodian territory.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Heng Ratana, Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), reported that CMAC expert teams responded to an emergency call to provide safe access to a temple area. During this operation, bomb disposal experts confirmed that the pagoda was bombed by the Thai Air Force using F-16 jets and MK-82 bombs equipped with GBU-12 Paveway II guidance systems.
H.E. Heng Ratana emphasized the significance of this discovery, stating, “I hope that with this strongest form of evidence, there will be no fake news from the other side attempting to discredit Cambodians! These bombs were manufactured in January 2023-I am 100% certain they were not dropped during the 1970-73 war period.”
