Seoul: H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the National Assembly, is attending the 2024 International Conference on ASEAN-Korea Partnership on Nov. 7 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. On the occasion, he shared his views that within the context of fast-changing geopolitical and geoeconomic landscape, intensifying major power competition, and increasing volatility and complexity of international environment, middle powers and small states are compelled to find their strategic space and a breathing ground for survival and growth. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, ASEAN-Korea partnership is one of the pillars promoting peace and prosperity in the Asia Pacific region, he underlined, adding that while remarkable progress has been made, ASEAN and Korea need to further deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership with a focus on people, peace, planet, and prosperity. 'Strengthening open and inclusive multilateralism and rules-based international order is our common interest, while pu tting the interests and aspirations of the people at the core of the partnership. Digital economy and green economy are two emerging growth areas that require more efforts and resources,' he said. H.E. Dr. Chheang Vannarith also encouraged Korea to invest more resources in strengthening the innovation capacity of ASEAN Member States across public, private and social sectors.
