Phnom Penh: Licensed gold refineries in Cambodia have unearthed nearly 13 tonnes of gold as of November 2024. H.E. Ung Dipola, Director General of the General Department of Mines of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, unveiled the ministry's record at a press conference on Nov. 6. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia), operating in Mondulkiri province, refined 807 gold bars with a total weight of 12,536 kilogrammes. Another gold refinery, Rong Cheng Industrial Investment, also working in the same province, produced 12 gold bars, equivalent to about 22 kilograms. The director general added that Cambodia has so far licensed ten gold refineries for operation in the country. Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) became Cambodia's first gold producer in June 2021, with a total fixed asset investment of about US$120 million.
