Phnom penh: H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Khmer Arts Association, headquartered in Washington State, to bolster cultural connections and examine potential collaborative projects.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the minister hosted Ms. Oum Mirady, President of the Khmer Arts Association, and her team during a courtesy visit at the ministry’s headquarters on October 13. The meeting aimed to explore initiatives promoting Khmer culture, including arranging study tours for U.S. students to visit Cambodia.
The discussions also addressed the organization of upcoming Khmer cultural events set to take place in Washington State. These initiatives reflect a concerted effort to enhance cultural understanding and cooperation between Cambodia and the U.S.-based association.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Sackona presented the delegation with cultural research materials. These included documentary books detailing Royal Ballet choreography, original music scores, and official UNESCO documents related to Cambodia’s intangible cultural heritage.
