H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will lead a delegation to take part in the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Lao PDR, at the invitation of his Lao counterpart H.E. Saleumxay KOMMASITH. The 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings will be held in Vientiane from July 24 to 27, 2024 under the theme "ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience". The meetings provide an opportunity to discuss ASEAN Community-building work including innovative approaches to further enhance ASEAN cooperation to realise a more connected and resilient region for shared prosperity, a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued this morning pointed out. H.E. Deputy Prime Minister will also attend separate meetings under Mekong cooperation frameworks with the foreign ministers of Japan and the Republic of Korea and the Secretary of State of the United States of America, the source added. During his stay in Vientiane, it continued, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister will join other ASEAN foreign ministers and the Secretary-General of ASEAN to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Sonexay SIPHANDONE, Prime Minister of Lao PDR.
