Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea received here on Oct. 5 separate courtesy calls from ambassadors of Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
In their meeting, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea and Dutch Ambassador H.E. Remco Johannes van Wijngaarden discussed ways to further enhance the cooperation between the two countries within bilateral and multilateral frameworks. They emphasised the importance of convening the first Bilateral Political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries in the near future and of cooperation between their respective diplomatic institutions.
Both sides also touched upon cooperation in trade, investment, and education, including scholarships and trainings for Cambodian diplomats and students.
For the meeting between H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea and H.E. Ms. Maria Amelita C. Aquino, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, it focused on economic diplomacy and further advancement of cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, agriculture, defence and people-to-people linkages, among others.
The two sides also expressed willingness to boost tourism by exploring the possibility of connecting direct flights to other potential tourist destinations in Cambodia and the Philippines.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Philippines for importing Cambodian rice.
Both sides emphasised the importance of working closely to convene the 4th Meeting of the Cambodia-Philippines Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation at the earliest convenience.
