Cambodian PM: Royal Government Focuses on Human Resource Development

The Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly has been paying special attention to human resource development based on knowledge, capacity, and health.

Therefore, the quality and safe supply of food is a top priority, underlined Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in a meeting in Tokyo, Japan this morning with Mr. Katsunari Matsuda, President of Meiji Co., Ltd. and CEO of Meiji Holding Co., Ltd., on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

The Premier also encouraged the company to invest in Cambodia’s agriculture by producing directly for local supply and export to foreign countries, as well as to help train human resources on agricultural skills to further boost agricultural productivity.

Mr. Katsunari Matsuda informed Samdech Thipadei about the progress of his company’s business activities and about its investment project, in terms of both product diversity and modern technology in Cambodia in the future.

In the same morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also received Mr. Okada Motoya, Chairman and Executive Director of Aeon Mall Co., Ltd.

The Prime Minister thanked Aeon Mall Co., Ltd. for its decision to extend its business in Cambodia and for its contribution to human resource training through provision of scholarships and construction of school buildings at the grassroot level.

The Royal Government has been paying attention to ensuring the sustainability of a favorable environment for business and investment through the introduction of new policies, mechanisms and legal frameworks, as well as the development of key infrastructure and logistics such as expressways, railways and ports to attract both local and foreign investors, he stressed.

Mr. Okada Motoya expressed his gratitude to the Royal Government for providing favourable conditions for the company’s smooth business operation in the Cambodia.
