The Royal Government of Cambodia's call for financial contributions to fund infrastructure development in the northeastern provinces, focusing on border ring road, has garnered significant support from citizens, government officials, and businessmen. A number of individuals and organisations have pledged and contributed their financial donations to "Border Infrastructure Development Fund,' demonstrating their commitment to the government's vision for improved transport networks in the region. The response from the public is a testament to the recognition of the critical importance of infrastructure development in fostering economic growth and connectivity. Citizens, government officials, and businessmen have given their financial support through the partnered bank accounts for "Border Infrastructure Development Fund." The funds raised will be utilised to construct and maintain roads, bridges, and other essential infrastructure projects in the northeastern provinces, enhancing the region's accessibility and attracting investment. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Monday expressed his profound thanks to the movement of unity from citizens, government officials, and businessmen, both inside the country and abroad. 'This participation clearly demonstrates the patriotic conscience through the development of border provinces in order to strengthen national defence, defend territorial integrity, and especially show the spirit of nationalism, which is a great encouragement for the Royal Government of Cambodia to fulfill its noble mission to serve the nation and the people,' the Premier said. Cambodia has since 1994 constructed a total of 1,320.66 kilometres of roads along the border with her neighbouring countries - Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. In a special statement on the 'One-Year Achievements of the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly,' on Aug. 22, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said 685.96 kilometres of roads have been built alon g the Cambodia-Vietnam border between 2017 and 2022 on a total plan of 1,069 kilometres. For the road construction along the Cambodian-Thai border, he pointed out, 455.5 kilometres have been completed on a total plan of 509 kilometres from 1994 to 2023.
