Phnom Penh: Cambodia recorded US$746 million in capital investment for the automotive sector, specifically in tire production, in 2024. This growth is attributed mainly to the country's automotive and electronics sectors development roadmap. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a recent meeting was held to review the implementation of the roadmap, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chair of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), H.E. Sun Chanthol. The meeting highlighted that the investment achievement surpassed the target, and the export of the automotive sector increased to approximately US$1.14 billion. H.E. Sun Chanthol expressed gratitude to all the stakeholders involved in the implementation of the Cambodia Automotive and Electronics Sectors Development Roadmap. He emphasized that the development of the sector is positioning Cambodia as an international hub for the production of automotive components and electronic equipment for export.
