Cambodia, Pakistan to Accelerate the Signing of Tourism Cooperation MoU


Phnom Penh: Cambodia and Pakistan are set to expedite the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designed to enhance tourism cooperation between the two nations. This agreement aims to foster closer ties and mutual benefits in the tourism sector, potentially boosting economic and cultural exchanges.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, both countries are committed to finalizing the MoU promptly, recognizing the potential for increased tourism activities and collaboration. The MoU is expected to create new opportunities for travel and tourism businesses, improve connectivity, and promote cultural understanding between Cambodia and Pakistan.



This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen bilateral relations and support the tourism industries in both countries, particularly in the wake of global travel disruptions. The accelerated efforts to sign the MoU demonstrate the commitment of Cambodia and Pakistan to work together towards shared goals in tourism development and cultural exchange.



Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak met here on Feb. 19 with H.E. Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Cambodia, to discuss tourism cooperation.`The meeting aimed to exchange views on promoting tourism between the two countries and to speed up the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cambodia-Pakistan tourism cooperation, said the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism. `Additionally, the source continued, discussions included a request for support in promoting Cambodia’s potential tourist destinations to attract more tourists, particularly from the Muslim community, to visit Cambodia.`The Ministry of Tourism has been working on strategies to increase attractiveness among the Muslim tourism market in response to trends as well as the continuously increasing size of the Muslim tourism market.`
