The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) have expressed their satisfaction with the progress of their relations and cooperation, which have been strengthened and expanded in all fields, especially after being elevated to the "comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership' in 2019. The remarks were highlighted by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and his Lao counterpart H.E. Sonexay Siphandone during their bilateral meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR this afternoon, on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits. H.E. Sonexay Siphandone extended warm welcome to the Cambodian Premier and his high-level delegation, and praised Cambodia for her achievements, especially in improving the people's living standard and in enhancing her prestige on the regional and international stage. For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked the Lao side for the warm welcome, and reaffirmed Cambodia's support for the Lao PDR's ASEAN cha irmanship in 2024. The two leaders also discussed the strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation in many potential areas, including politics, defence and security, trade and investment, tourism, finance, energy, education, and infrastructure construction connecting the two neighbouring countries.
