The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Indonesia on Aug. 16 discussed rice trade between both nations and agreed on three main points.
The Cambodian side was led by H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, while the Indonesian side was headed by H.E. Pahala Nugraha Mansury, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, Indonesia agreed to buy some 125,000 tonnes of Cambodian milled rice, of which 100,000 tonnes of white rice through the Bulog-Green Trade mechanism, and 25,000 tonnes of premium rice through ID Food-CRF mechanism.
Both sides decided to revise the Memorandum of Understanding on Rice Trade between the two countries’ Ministries of Commerce for up to 250,000 tonnes of milled rice per year for a period of four years, it added.
They also agreed to establish a mechanism to facilitate communication and coordination in rice trade, said the same source.
